Advancing ocean conservation by addressing the reality that 98% of the ocean remains unprotected—Project Zero reduces pollution and safeguards marine biodiversity, one percent at a time
Project Zero is a bold initiative in ocean conservation with a clear mission: to reduce the percentage of unprotected oceans from 98% to zero. Rather than starting new projects, Project Zero amplifies and funds existing efforts, accelerating tangible progress. The visual identity centers around the integration of the percentage symbol into the ‘Z’ of Zero, a powerful representation of their commitment to incremental change. Each completed project decreases the unprotected percentage, symbolizing measurable steps toward protecting marine ecosystems. As the designer and creative director, I developed a visual and narrative system that translates the urgency of ocean conservation into an actionable mission. The design highlights Project Zero’s methodical approach while fostering a sense of community and pride among supporters. By wearing the badge, donors and advocates become part of the journey to reduce the unprotected percentage, inspiring collective action to achieve zero unprotected oceans.
